Default 81 Transmission Question

I have an opportunity to purchase a Doug Nash/Richmond 4 + 1 manual transmission. Part number 7021710A. Will this fit in my 81? It looks pretty big and thought I better ask before I spend any money. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, I know this. The car was an automatic and I want to go to manual. It is in pieces now, but I am collecting parts to reassemble. I believe I can get this transmission for a good price. I am not concerned about gas mileage.

have you read the instruction manual and perhaps contacted Richmond directly?

Thank you for that link. It answers my question. I also found a couple of threads in this forum doing the exact thing I want to. One with the transmission I may purchase.
