It's been a real hot summer so I've letf my 79, L82, 4 speed, 45 K miles in the garage. We're getting to old to handle the interior heat in the hot weather. It's cooling down now so I started getting it ready for a few rides. I've had it for over 15 years now, went throught the engine, new brakes, suspension ect. I'm running a straight 4160 Holly with no choke so it usually sputters and misses for a while when I first get it out but after I blow it out, it evens out and runs fine. This time the tach stopped working while I was getting on it pretty hard. I've been looking for the cause, I know it runs off of the ignition module and I'm thinking there's a fuse or a fusable link that blew but I can't find one in the wiring diagrams or in the wiring that I can see, which as you know is very little and I can't seem to find a troubleshooting procedure any where
Can anyone give me some help on troubleshooting this thing?

Thanks.
Hotstuff-
There is a ton of info on my sight that will help you.
I think the first thing I would do is by-pass the filter and see if that tach starts working.
What does the tach do when you turn on the key. If it fails to move you might consider pulling the tach out and doing some testing. This tach is super easy to remove from the car too.... instructions are in the pages posted below.
Once the tach is out of the car you can test for power and ground and the continuity on the white wire that runs to the distributor. If you have power, ground and continuity... then you probably need a new tach board.
