During the Stars and Stripes tour at the stop in Columbus, OH, I had the opportunity to drive a 2001 black Z06. My friend just bought the car this past week. This car was fast and refined. It could make someone go to the other side. Dont worry, I am not going too.
I had the same opportunity. have to admit it beat my car in every catagory, handling, comfort etc. etc. But remember it is the love of the classic looks that caused me to buy C-3's not performance/ whatever.

You hit the nail on the head :smash: :smash: C3's have so much more style then any other Corvette produced yet (the Mid-Years are cool too). You can make your C3 faster and handle just as well as a new Z06 with a little $$$$$. The comfort and refined catagory are just a fact that newer cars have 25 to 30 years of technology in their favor. I like the raw feeling my car give me + it scares the crap out of almost everyone that rides in it.

Ya what fun would it be to drive your vette and put it a way and know you do not have to fix it before you take it out again. Got to love the older cars. Yes the new ones have all the goodes but we got all the looks.  :seeya
Good point guys...how many of you have pulled up next to a new Vette/ Viper/ Porshe and you got way more looks than the car that costs 30k+ more than yours?
Seriously you all know how much I love my Stingray -- but don't underestimate the power of a brand new Millenium Yellow Z06.
I've had more people stop, yell, come over, ogle, etc. over the Z in the last 2 weeks then in 2 years with the Stingray -- and I've gotten a lot of compliments on that car, too
I must say that the ZO6 badge does get a lot of respect when driving. With the Z it is satisfying in that you know and they know without even having to blip the throttle who would be looking at who's tail lights very quickly. That should be the case with the L88 too, even against a ZO6; but, unfortunately not many people even know what that is anymore. Just another loud C3 with a big hood. :(
Recently I made a right turn onto a road that was lined with SUV's getting ready to make a left on the road I came from. I swear the heads looked like dominos. One by one, every single driver checked out my car. (The 76) I laughed becase I have about $8000 in the car and all those head turners were driving 30K and up SUVs! Even the lowly 76 sure gets a lot of thumbs up and head turns!
I just got done waxing the Vette and polishing all the engine bay. Stopped over at my buddy, Frankie, pad and his girlfriend looks over at the Vette and says "thats like a sports-car right?? My brother has a hot new Buick Skylark, I think he'll beat you." I looked at her then at Frankie and said "I really need to get better friends" WHAT A CHICKEN-HEAD!
