Default Question(s) about air filter...

Is anyone using K&N's, "X-Stream" air filter?
A recent catalog says they give about an extra 500 CFM of airflow.
I'm wondering if the $80 price tag would be worth it (for whatever increase
in performance I'd get.)
Also, I'm wondering if any adjustment to the carb would be needed.

I haven't seen this, but the only way that it gives you an extra 500 CFM is if it is compared to a filter that is completely coverd in dried mud. The difference between a closed-element paper filter with a single snorkel and no air cleaner is about 250 CFM.

I believe that is the max air flow through it but it won't give you an extra 500 through the carb. I am trying to configue a way to use that lid and use the max air wraps to pull more air through my cowl but allow me to chang back when it gets cooler. Might just get the cowl lid but not sure it will work with my holley.

BTW You can get them from Summit for about $55, guessing you are looking in Mid America or Ecklers.
