Default fuel canister

I bought a car and all the engine airlines going to the canister that goes bank to the fuel tank has been cut from the engine to the canister. This is no the canister for the headlights.
What is the best way to remove the lines or the canister and not let it effect the fuel tank. Example: air lock – if I block off the main line going back to tank, or fuel smell – if I leave it open to the environment?

If you block of the line from the tank to the vapor canister, then you must use a vented gas cap.

Just asking, but why remove any of it? Reconnect the lines from the engine to the can.

The motor has a supercharger on it now and there's no where to connect them. It has two vaccum lines. One for Brakes and one for lights. It has one hose for the PCV valve. Other than that it is as clean and hose free as it can be.

I could probably connect one of the hoses to one of the carbs and plug all the other lines off.
