73 L82 Exhaust ??
-What is better the systems the ones that are part welded already or not? I really don't care but the Tips Must Fit Right..
-I don't really like those huge mufflers but they sound pretty good, how are the hidden mufflers sound and fit??
-And I'll take any tips and tricks you guys may have, as I am new to corvettes..
But old with Muscle cars
Some are more than others and there are other kits out there.
MagnaFlow would be my favorite and full stainless exhausts are better performing then steel and stock mufflers. Kits are online and I can tell from experience muff shops do not install it right on my 1977 prior owner had a shop install a dual exhaust system and ran it too close to my tranny then did not take into consideration burning thru my drivers side pan under my drivers seat the second CAT and I had to put Myler fabric in 2 areas to protect my transmission and protect from heat on the Second CAT.
Nice thing about a 1977 it has Dual Exhuast ports in the frame Tranny Mount Rail so what I did was a temperary fix to the problem a inexperienced exhuast installer caused. I can reuse the Welded in CATs but will go with a Magna Flow from eariler years to fix the problems

Would like a SS system but nun of the corvette vendors carry them. My car being a 73 does not have Cat, Conv.
This is pretty much what I am looking for, just not sure about the big mufflers and the welded version??

First off, contrary to their listings, Magnaflow does not make a system for the 68-73! They list 3 systems; one for big blocks, one for "cars factory equipped with side pipes (lots of those made in 73 as you know!)" and one for "stock small block". The last, and most common, system is not yet in production! Basically, none of the systems currently offered actually have rear exits!

The local shop I got my parts from ordered from their suppliers faithfully and received a system, for my 73, that had turn downs off of mufflers that did not line up with the rear valance; not what you are looking for! We even called Magnaflow and they confirmed that their system is not specifically designed for the 68-73 with the rear outlets!
What we did was to install the system as it was supplied, but, replaced the mufflers with center outlet units and cut and welded on a pair of repro tips. In the end it looks perfect and sounds awesome, but, it was extra work and extra $ to make it right.
With what we learned, I would have to recommend the Pypes system as it appears to be a better fit for the early C3s.
