Default OK I need some trans help!

Just updated the motor and exhaust on my 75, but what is the best tranny and gear set for accel and power? Not doing too much highway driving so that's not too much of a problem. is the 350 or the 400 better? it has the 400 now with everything stock. But I heard the 400 saps more power than the 350 does?
engine... Put on new heads, intake, carb, cam, headers and exhaust.
I know I need a new convertor, I heard smaller diameter and higher stall, but what diameter would be good? You guys have obviously been around vettes a lot more then I have so I figured experience tells all!
So any help would be great!!!

Rookie here......if you're concerned about losing power thru the transmission---the forum members will probably tell you to put a manual transmission in it/2nd choice---rebuild the A/T with an upgrade kit designed for your style of driving.

stick with the turbo 350 they can be built to hold insane power levels, finding a good converter is easy, i always liked ATI, Jim's people make some of the best stuff out there and have for decades. there are others that are very good too.

to pick a converter we need cam specs, same for gears. The 400 saps more power due to it being heavier duty, that being said yo have the 400 already if it is in good working order Id just run it unless you are racing some type of spec class.
