Going to replace the power antenna on my 76. The old one is in place but doesn't function. I could probably replace the mast as I have with C4 and C5's Ive had but got a new one fairly cheap. My question is regarding the possibility of a relay somewhere around the battery compartment- is there one? Otherwise I believe I need to lower the left side exhaust to disconnect and reconnect and run antenna plug in back under car to radio. Am I missing something?? Thanks in advance for any advice paul
The antenna relay in 78 was moved to under the driver's console and I believe this was part of the interior redesign introduced in the 1977 model year. Perhaps the 76 guys can help if its not there.
antenna comes out from bottom, i have been able to work around the exhaust, but i guess it would depend on size of muffler and the way the pip is run….
the wires comes through where the back drivers side speaker is located…. i have no relay on mine, but it is an aftermarket black Hurshman, fully auto
