My 69 427/390 with Hooker side mount headers and pipes. Identical hardware on each side.
At idle, they sound different. Drivers side is a steady rythem and passenger side is more eratic and uneven.
Is this because of the fireing order being biased towards one cyl bank?
Or unbalanced carb?
my 77 L48 sounds the same, like a pop/clomp from the passengers side, while drivers side has an even tone, if you think of the firing order, 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, its drivers, pass, pass, drivers, pass, driver, driver, pass, the only thing i can figure is that its firing more on the pass side than then drivers in a row, so you hear the individual fires on the drivers side and with the long tube headers it puts two of the same side cylinders firing so close together that it comes out almost like one noise. but thats just a shot in the dark
