interior courtesy lamps inoperable
I have a 1978 coup with the interior courtesy lamps inoperable when opening the doors, this vehicle has no dimmer relay. So here is what I have done so far, replaced headlamp switch and all the bulbs, removed and checked door switches both appear to be operating correctly. The lights work correctly when using the headlamp switch to turn them off and on but not when opening and closing the doors.

As sixfooter said, it is probably a malfunction of the delay timer (meant to keep lights on after shut down engine and close doors). I have read here that you can disconnect the unit and jumper the two white wires going to the orange box to circumvent the timer, so try that. If it works, just permanently connect the whites or buy an aftermarket box (Willcox?).

Thats what I did with my 78 dimming is cool but not $100 cool (for the box)
