Looking for MRVETTE (aka Gene)
I have skill in wiring, soldering and such and am considering making my own harnesses for my 79. I was doing research on the forum and saw that you make your own harnesses. I am not looking to preserve originality and wanted to know what compaines you source your terminals, plugs, and connectors through. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

feels like it anyway.....at any rate, I have such a stock of wiring from various vehicles, I just go to the bin and pull pretty much what I need, unless I pull it off a reel of new wire, which I use to wire my own anti=theft stuff, and engine computer wiring,
I am an old ET from decades ago, and have a Weller soldering station with 800F temp tip on it, so I can properly solder all wire splices, wrap in electrical tape, hold down tie wrap, and then the later accordian plastic black wrap, I don't use crimp connectors for years now, unless I strip out the barrel for some reason and then solder....REASON...the damn metal in modern crimp connectors is too thin and you can pull the wire out with minimal effort....sorry but that is NOT a good connection,.....so why spend money? just strip/wrap around each other solder and tape....some guys go the extra step with shrink wrap, but that is getting tough to find anymore....China junk is China junk and I will NOT BUY IT@!!!!
SO for me to wire a GM car from years ago, is a no sweat thing, I have a '91 F body speed density DPFI system in my '72, computer behind the map pocket, tied to the steel body support....I can get to the computer in about 5 minits with my screwdriver/drill, hand screwdriver maybe a minit more....that includes getting the tools set up.....
I junkyarded as much of many wiring harnesses as possible just for the wire, computer, lighting, chassis....what ever....
there is NOTHING stock about my '72 vert, nothing, not ONE thing.....
take a drift through page 3? of the Photobucket site below, and the Shutterfly is just outdoor sites....pardon me if my recollection is backwards on who/what.....that's life.....
feel free to PM/email if you have any questions....no sweat....
