I had an earlier post about my 71 running too hot (210 on hot days). In response to a recommendation from a fellow forum member, I purchased Redline Water Wetter from Summit. I drained some coolant and refilled with water to achieve a 30/70 mixture (coolant to water) and poured the water wetter in the radiator. The water temperature is now running at 190. On the 4th of July it was 94 in Ohio. I drove for several hours and the temp just barely creeped over 190. This stuff is excellent. I recommend it for anyone driving a vintage vette in hot weather. Several of my friends have tried it with similar results.

WATER WETTER ROCKS!!!! It's very good stuff!!
With my new engine I was running up to 225 degrees in the intake with pure water!!!!
I added 2 bottles of WATER WETTER and the highest temperature I got to was 210 degrees in the intake which is approx. 195 degrees in the heads!!! It was at least a 15 - 20 degree temperature drop!!!
Olivier
BTW: I paid $3.50/bottle for the last 4 bottles of WATER WETTER that I bought at DISCOUNT AUTO PARTS. They are discontinuing to sell WATER WETTER and therefore they offered 50% discount!!!
