Default Anyone try intake texturing and see results?

Just wondering if anyone here has tried it and seen any definitive results that they can attribute to texturing.

I've read over on speed talk that some have shown HP increases due to texturing.
What I'm wondering if there are other benefits like better fuel atomization, less drop out of fuel, idle quality changes, throttle response changes etc.
This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about.

Most of the talk seems to centered around texturing of the head on the intake side. but why not the intake manifold as well.
If there is a reduction in drag then the exhaust side should show benefits too I would think.
I came across this thesis paper last night and found it interesting, although long and somewhat tedious. It talks about reduction in drag in rectangular ducts by imitating shark skin like texture.

The most reduction of drag (about 10%) was with small vertical walls for the fluid to flow over. Who'd have guessed?

Textured so to speak stock/cast Im guessing once ported would texturing benefit?

Been watching these discussions on speedtalk for awhile and came to the conclusion unless its some 700hp monster and another 5hp/5 cfmwould win races its a waste of time, or possibly somoenes flowbench result.
Some say the texturing the bowl + some helps also
Would we feel it doubtful just my view others will argue it to death.

Sure theres something to it though . Or possibly more tuning would do the trick.

Ya I noticed the HP benefit is minimal on those that have done it on speed talk. Thing is though there is more than peak HP numbers to a good running engine right? And like you suggest is it just a band aide for poor tuning?
The theory seems good, wondering about real world application.

i just know smokey yunick was a fan of it, he said if it was smooth that fuel would want to puddle up, that a rough texture helped with fuel atomization, but i have no experience with it all of my intakes and intake ports have always had a cast finished.
