I could be wrong but I think the 81 and 82 might not have that adjustable bumper screw shown in the lower right on the second pic above.
I think the entire bracket moves up and down using slotted holes where the two screws hold it to the main headlight body (two screws shown in the first picture)

Again, I'm not sure but I've seen two different styles of brackets and some very different descriptions as to what they fit.
My understanding is:
The 68-69 were straight with a 90 deg. bend at the end and an adjustable stop pad.



The hockey stick shaped bracket with round holes and adjustable bumper 70-79(80?)



The slotted one without the bumper 81-82.

Larry our 82s do not have the bumper just the bracket.

No wonder I can't find it. Tightened that up some against stop. Will see in that helps. Might think about slipping a piece of bicycle tire over the end.
