My budget 78 build is in its final phase. Contrary to all the car shows one does not have to throw $10-40,000 of parts and paint at a car to make it nice.
So the 78 is going to Maaco for its budget single stage paint job. I'm doing most of the prep. The issue or question is the car had a thick sealer and paint applied to it somewhere in the past.
Most of the paint is sticking strong and will be a great foundation to scuff and shoot. There are a few areas that the second coat did not stick well and was flaking off so I used a razor blade and removed the loose paint but it has left a ledge the areas are the size of my hand and the ledge looks to be about 0.005-7 thick. What should I fill these areas with? High Build primer, glazing or body filler? The car is white so it won't need to be perfect but I'd like to make it as good as possible.
Just feather down the ridge. You'll end up with a fist sized spot of sanding for even the smallest nick, but it's better than trying to use fillers or high build primers IMHO when the majority of the car is a scuff and shoot.

I feathered the edges, used 80 grit on the bare spot to roughen up, filled with 2 part glazing, sanded down and shot with hi build primer final sanded and primed looks like new.
