Distributor cap resistance
I am using my same methodical step by step method of putting my engine together as usual. I was checking the dist cap with my ohm meter. It seemed like the resistance from the terminals on the top to the posts on the inside was crazy high on the ohm meter. Anybody have a reading on a new cap ?

There are caps with aluminum terminals (used by Delco on Impala motored Corvettes) and brass terminals which are more conductive. The aluminum terminals oxidize and build up higher resistance, the oxidized brass is actually lower resistance or so I was told many years ago when I put myself through college by working at a NAPA auto parts store (Echlin ignition components training seminar.)
