Default 1975 tach problems

I have a 1975 corvette I bought last summer. It runs great but a few weeks ago I noticed the tach was stuck at 1800 rpm,and staying there even after turning on the key. I figured it was tach board so I bought a new one from willcox. Without putting it in the car I ran a 12v,a ground and then a long wire coming from tach to tach connection on back of the new board, it will now zero, but I cant get a dist signal, have bypassed the filter and went through filter, still after I start car it stays at 0

how do I delete this thread?i figured out what was wrong with tach.

on the back of the tach board I didn't have one of those three little nuts tight,after I seen it wasn't tight I tightened it and like magic,,,works,

I would have never attempted this if it wasn't for that video willcox put on youtube tyvm. Got it all back together and zeroed, drove it yesterday and tach works great.
