Default 73 Rebuild

I have a 73 I'm putting together. The original L82 engine is not in it. I do have a 350 from a 73 I parted out. My original plan was the build a 383 from the 350 but found a deal on an LS1. Now I'm pushing around the idea of installing the LS1 in it.
First question is regarding the difficulty of the swap itself. Will I need to relocate the motor mounts? What other swap challenges are there?
I know the original motor was replaced but the tranny should have been a 400. Where is the markings to id the tranny? Could be they replaced it with a 350. (just want to be sure)
Lastly, are there challenges with mating the LS 1 to the 400/350?

I'll answer one of your three questions. The easiest way to tell which transmision you have is by the shape of the oil pan. the TH350 is square with a "notch" in one corner. This link shows the pan gaskets but you'll get the idea:
