New motor install update
Well it seems like this motor install is taking forever. Every time I think I'm ready something else comes up and hits the pocket book on this project. I guess thats how it goes one thing leads to another, but when its all said and done I think I will be quite pleased with the results.
The car is a 76, I pulled out the L-48 and installing a 355 from Blue Print Motors. The dyno came in at 417hp. I will be running a 650 Holley with a performer series manifold. I was running a 1406 edelbrock carb on my old motor and was not happy with the results.
Pic#1- Engine removed and now I need to clean and paint engine
compartment.
Pic#2- Radiator core support is rusted,(sucks) I have new one and will be
installing it, along with new hood seals and bolts. I will be
installing a new aluminum radiator with two electric cooling
fans and shroud.
Pic#3- The new motor is the one in front, old motor is behind it.
Pic#4- Transmission was been rebuilt and a 2300 stall converter
installed.
Pic#5- All brake lines and calipers have been replaced.
Pic#6- The bushings have been replaced. New shocks installed. I will be
installing a spreader to the front end. I seen were some of the
members were talking about it, made sense to me so I
ordered one.
I toying with the idea of running line locks on it while I have everything
apart. Do you think it would be a good idea to run an additional trans.
cooling system?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks I'll keep ya posted on
the progress....Thanks
