What EVER you do, stay the HELL away from anything to do with TPIS in Chaska Minn......they sold me a ZZ9 cam years ago, and it drove me krazy with the INTERMITTENT sloppy idle....which it took almost TEN years to finally pull the damn cam, and put in a stock L98 cam, when looking at the cam, I took many pictures, it had delaminated entirely and was just junk....why the engine would smooth out once in a while is a mystery.....all I know is that outfit is nothing but trouble....when confronted they basically told me to go to hell.....
the above pix are funny in that I went to fit my LT1 induction on the L98 engine and the tops of the LT intake needed additional aluminum, and of course they were TIG'd in place and the mods to the rear for the old HEI......been on there some 7? years now....
When that last induction was done, and the intermittent idle continued, I got a used L98 cam, and it fixed the car.....

Funny thing I sent them a email on availibility and cost. They have no stock and nothing expected till April ? but are willing to take my money today to make sure I get something from the order in April. After the keisler issues who in there right mind would chance this?. Whats happening to all the USA companies. We dont have any in Canada and seems now made in the USA is starting to disapear ?

mate, you want to try australia , mitsubishi left a couple year ago, now ford, holden(local GM brand) & toyota have announced they are leaving. That means their vendors & aftermarket will be close behind.
I just picked up one of these for my 406 SBC.
Won't have it running till the end of the year but this looks to have way more flow than the stock TPI and is cheaper than the Mini-Ram.

Well Thanks for the link. I now have a 3rd option to look at. This is what they sent to me when asking about TPI for the ZZ5 and my 1978 corvette. The part I like is the "fast ez tune" with the FIRST TPI. Not sure about the distributor comment, waiting for additional information.
"We actually do have a package that could complete your ZZ5 engine. We sell a system with the fast ez tune and the FIRST tpi for $2350 plus shipping. You would need to get an externally mounted high pressure EFI fuel regulator and some long throttle and detent cables as well as a distributor, but other than that the main components are in that kit"

The FAST EZ EFI does not have a provision to control ignition timing so you can use your stock distributor.
However in my opinion, going to fuel injection and NOT having the ignition timing computer controlled is leaving a key point for going to injection in the first place on the table.
I guess it all depends on your goals and your budget.
FAST's XFI does allow for electronic spark control but you need to have a distributor that will support it (IE FAST's "Dual Sync" distributor).

I would like ls3 like controls with a ZZ5. I will keep investigating. Getting closer everyday. I know what I dont want, and that is having to tune EFI the manual way. I like smart computers and a diagnostic port to connect too, monitor (data log) what is happening and when its not working give me diag codes. I will see if they have a FAST XFI that works with the ZZ5 ?

I have just looking at the Holley Terminator ecu as well as the FAST xfi. Will be deciding btn buying a ZZ5/383 or another crate. Just sifting through the Holley forum and a Mustang (sorry guys but excellent thread on the Terminator efi) forum.
I have a Ramjet 350 being controlled by a FAST EZ EFI 2.0 that I just finished installing. It runs wonderful and I've only just finished installing it since December 2013.
I previously ran it with the GM MEFI and I also ran it with a GM 730 ECM (about a ~1992 GM TPI ECM, common, good ECM) and I was burning my own chips too for the 730. That was all good and well, but burning chips gets tiring. It always ran fine on the stock MEFI but it ran rich and stunk. I've had it about 10 years running one or the other system. I had them wired in parallel in case I messed something up when I was burning chips for the 730, then I could just disconnect it and go to the MEFI (which always ran just fine as mentioned above).
Anyway, I just finished installing the EZ EFI 2.0 and it runs better now than it has at any time in the past 10 or so years. AND I haven't even finished fine tuning the Timing part of the program. I like this thing quite well and it is self-learning also so no chip burning or anything like that is requried.

Only reason I have not looked at the ramjet it dosn't fit under my stock hood. I have at the front of the engine block about 8.5" room and the ramjet requires 9".
I would transition to one of the LSx engines. I like my RamJet 350 just fine and it really runs nice with these EZ EFI 2.0, but unless you really want to stay with the traditional small block, the newer LSx type engines sure seem to have a lot more potential.
As far as the hood, I have an L88 hood that I modified and my air filters and ducting are grafted onto it. YOu can see some pics of it off to the left.....I was going to beautify it, but I kinda like that industrial look

So what are people doing to there C3's to provide fuel for EFI requirements. With a ZZ5 I assume I will need to block off the mechnical fuel pump and replace with a external electric fuel pump or a in tank unit. Problems with routing lines with the body still on the car ? What did your RamJet require ?
A couple of years ago I bought a 85 C4 that somebody had installed a ZZ4. It was a project car as it would drive around the block but that was it. Once I got it home we found some wiring issues as when they pulled the engine they didn't disconnect any of the Black Ground wires they just ripped them out. Once we had them pieced back together I took it to a local performance tuning shop and they flashed the chip in the stock ECU. Now it runs good, the TPI has always got a bad rap about being made for a 305 CI engine and not making a lot of HP up top. But what they are good for is Torque. This car Rips it breaks the Tires Loose at will and will give my 96 LT4 a run for the money. Its great for the autocross tracks and has made the road coarse to.

You should block it off, alternately Edelbrock and others sell an EFI sump kit with a self-contained pump. You'd have to find a place to mount it in the engine bay but it would simplify setting things up and give you much better fuel scavenging than the stock tank. The only thing I don't like is now you're running two fuel pumps.
I installed a 1990 Bronco cannnister type fuel pump......I already owned a Bronco so I knew what it looked like. If i was to do it nowadays I would use an 82 sending unit and modify it to attach cannister pump....there are quite a few type cannister type pumps assemblies out there.....and some are smaller than the one I used. It would be simpler and easier if it was a little smaller and if I used the 82 sending unit assembly. Heck i might modify mine to use an 82 sending unit if I get ambitious.......and I really like that I can bring it out of the topside without dropping the tank.
I used braided fuel line.....it stinks a little....I plan to replace that with some of that new braided SS covered Teflon stuff...but it works fine so I'm in no hurry.
