Default LS swap front end drop

How low is too low. I'm may have dropped too much. The scatter shield has about 3 1/2" clearance form the ground; hate to rip out the TKO 500. I know some are lower. Any pics of some low rides?

Before cutting coils.

I actually trimmed the bottom flange on the scatter shield for a little extra clearance. I know I have some pictures of it somewhere but every little bit helps also.

Looks like you may get some tire rubbing unless you change the wheel/tire combo. You have to be very aware of any road debris or construction (raised manhole covers) when driving anyway. The exhaust system ends up being the lowest thing to the ground, but knocking off an exhaust pipe isn't nearly as bad as breaking the oil pan.

On my car the suspension is so stiff that I don't worry about bottoming out going over normal bumps. It's the stuff that ends up in the road that concerns me.

Default Dry Sump oil pan

Forgot to mention. I have the stock dry sump set up from the LS3 Grand Sport. The oil pan is not lower than the steering ram. It fit in there real nice. I may have to get another set of springs and cut a little less to clear the tires, cut the scatter shield flush, and rearrange the wheel combo. I've already added the 8.5" bolts in the rear.

Put the new wheels on and see how it sits/looks first-----before cutting new coil springs.....

no sense in ruining new coils!

I'm curious my LS3 dry sump pan seems to have clearance issues with the centerlink at full right turn. You have good clearance to your oil pan?

Using the right wheels and putting the rest of the car together should both be done before you set the final ride height.

Default Coil spring spacers

Anyone ever use coil spring spacers; if so, rubber, urethane, or aluminum?

One of the reasons I elected to go with coil over springs from vb&p on my 73 frame off / LS7 conversion is that I can adjust the ride height.
