I started working on my 76 corvette because the radio and the clock didn't work anymore. Had both things repaired but when checking the radio, it became clear that the speaker on the driver side didn't work.
How can i best remove/replace that speaker? Is it possible to only remove the top dash pad and leave the part with the odometer/tachometer in place? Note that passenger and center dash are removed already.
If you go to the Willcox corvette supplier site, there is instructions on removing the top cap. On the left side of the page at the bottom, there is a tech help section to click on. It's not difficult however depending on the age of your dash cap, it could be very brittle so you will have to be very cautious. After removing all of the molding, you will need to pull up in the center of the dash cap causing it to bow. This is where caution is needed.
Good Luck,
Bill
