you either remove the entire rear diff and the rear cover .or you use a mity-vac hand pump and some small tubing .you probably won't get all of it out with the hand pump ,but do it every few years and it will help .order some posi additive to add to the new gear lube .
I just did, I used a pump then added the oil and gear additive, pain in the rear, only to find out there was a plug on the bottom of the diff.
That would bite.
There is/was a kit available to put a pipe threaded plug into the diffs. I thought about adding one to mine when it was out but then again, with how rarely it'll even get changed, I'll deal with it the hard way.
To the OP
One tip when adding the new fluid (and definitely add the GM posi conditioner), stick a needle through the tube and the bottle lid to prevent the little tube from popping off and ending up in the diff.

I drilled and tapped for 1/8 pipe thread. let drain 4 a day or two while I went to the store bought a fitting or 2 to screw into the fill port along with a 4 foot length of clear hose sit on my scooter to poor the juice into the hose Viola. I always wanted to use that word. T
"Corvette Central" sales a differential drain plug kit. A little pricy, but does a good job. If you knew someone who had the tools from the kit, all you would need to buy is the plug.
