Seems I read here somewhere about C3 (in this case my '69) brakes developing problems while the car is inactive or in storage for an extended period. I have entered several inquiries in "search" but cannot come up with anything.
I garaged my '69 last September and about a week ago needed to back it out of my garage for some working room. When I backed out and applied the brakes the pedal went clear to the floor. In checking the master cylinder I found the fluid very low. The brakes were fine when I last drove it in the fall. I have not yet raised the car to get under it but I found no evidence of brake fluid leakage on the garage floor. What gives?
Both of those ideas are on my mind. As soon as the snow is gone and my non-heated garage is warm enough I will start my search for the source of the problem.
Don't you just love snow! Sucks freezing your @$$ off while trying to work on the car! I had the same problem when I picked up my 78 from the seller - storage during the winter and pedal went to the floor. Not a trace of brake fluid on the ground, but found the problem once I pulled the tires off - all four calipers were leaking.
As Ibanez540r said, the fluid has to be somewhere. GL.

It appears your post and that of jartanyon confirm my thought that there were/are some inherent problems with certain C3 brakes while sitting inactive for a period of time.

It was a yearly thing for me until I rebuilt my calipers for the o-ring seals. Haven't had a problem now for years.

Just an FYI. I have regular NON o ring SS calipers on my 78 since 1985 and have had zero issues all these years. my car sits for months like others in the winter. Change your brake fluid every 3 years or so and if the system is in good operating condition, you should have no problems-o ring seals or not.
Damn! Pulled my engine tonight and noticed brake fluid on the inside of one of the front tires! Looks like it will be an annual thing for me as well until I switch.
