Default Wheel Fitment

have an 81 vette that i am in the middle of a frame off restoration and i have a question about some rims i found on craigslist.

Rear:
Offset trailing arms
shortened composite VBP leaf
VBP sway bar
wilwood calipers (clear the stock rims)

I want to keep the wheel/tire inside the fender and i do not have flares. The rims i found are 17X9.5 with 4" of backspace. I have read that others are running 4.5" or even 5" with offset arms and 9/10" wide rims. The tires on these rims are 255/50 which is basically what i have on the car now.

The front rims that the guy has are 15x7 with 195/50 tires.

Is this setup going to look goofy on a vette? I was originally planning on going 18 in the back and 17 in the front but these craigslist rims and tires are a great deal. They are torque thrust II by the way. Maybe someone has a picture of their car with a 17"/15" setup

Go with all 17", all 18", or 17" front and 18" rear.

[COLOR="Blue"]4 " is the OEM back space for all 4. 9.5" will be fine on the back if you stay with 255. Most people go with the OEM 8 inch wheel up front. 7" might pull it in to much.
I have 9.5" in back and 8" up front. Like mentioned above, stick with one size or go 18 rear , 17 front.

But, if it is really a great deal and worth it, buy the set and sell the fronts and purchase 2 new fronts to match.

You'll have to check...But I don't think the rear sway bar will fit- will interfere w/ the rear tires.

Vansteel has one for the offset arms.

It is a vansteel sway bar. Not sure why i thought it was VBP. The offset arms are from van steel also
