I had the original Ignitor in my vette and I called Pertonix and they told me as long as the coil had 1.5 ohms of resistance every thing would work.My resister wire was cut and I was burning up points. Here is the easy and right way to wire it if Ignitor2 is similar.Take the 2 screws out of the engine harness, pull the harness away from the firewall andremove the resister wire from the back.Next go to Auto Zone and they have G.M. electricalconnectors that are the same as the one you have. Then you get a long piece of 12 or 14 guage wire, connect it and run through the harness, put theharness back on the fire wall and connect to coil. You now have full voltage to coil and you can run any after market system you want.I now have an MSDpro billet (not my idea to change the pertonix,it worked perfectly)which works fine. One hrs work and your good to go,and no extra wires hanging around.
Being new at this vette maintenance work, can someone tell me how or where i hook the wire to get a 12V switched connection. What does it mean "at the fuse block"? is that the fuse box inside the car up above my left foot in the driver's seat? what a pain to get to.....
Yes, in the fuse box, there is a place where you can plug in a wire to either acc, or ign. either will have power with the key on, but only the ign will have power while cranking the engine.

Thanks for all your help. Got the rebuilt distrib. dropped in this weekend, lined up perfectly with the marks i made when i pulled it out, and the car started first turn. Runs beautifully. No hesitation, no bucking, better than it has run in two years. I really appreciate the help and feedback.
