I'm rebuiling the dissy removed from a 69. Surprisingly there is no wear in the cross gear area. Two questions.
Where can the miscellaneous small parts be purchased? I need the cross gear thrust washer and the lubricating wick, and all the parts houses only sell the washer with a new driven gear and no one sells the wick.
When I disassembled the dissy, the dimple on the main gear was pointing away from the rotor tip. I don't want to sound dumb, but I thought that the tip and the dimple should face the same direction. Am I dumb or smart??
Could be my memory but I have no recollection of a lubricating wick in the area of the cross gear. The housing is typically packed with grease. You are correct the dimple and rotor should point the same direction.
