Going to replace dash lights-What do I buy as a replacement?
1 or 2 of the four lights in the speedo and tach are out (there are four in each, right?) and I'm going to tear the dash apart and replace as many of them as I can reach. They are all on the left side too, so I can't see the low speeds and RPM (not that my tach works right anyway). It makes night driving impossible around town. What do I buy as a replacement for these bulbs? Just go to the autoparts store and pick up normal GM ones or what?
Any tips on how to do it would be appreciated also. I know I have to drop the column down a little and I figure I'll just unscrewing things until I get to it. Not like the shop manual I just bought is any help  (If you have the '77 Chevy Shop manual and know where to look, that'd be great). All the dash lights are on the same fuse and circuit, right? Thanks guys.

Due to the amount of work involved, you don't want to get them at discount places. Maybe Napa or GM. I know some people will say "a bulb is a bulb" but I don't trust cheap stuff who knows where. Test them all BEFORE you close everything up.

I just had my entire dash apart (fixing tach) The bulb you need is an 1895 and I also recommend you by a name brand and test them. For my tach, speedo and gauges I think I used 20? bulbs. Oh yeah, that's the other bit of advise. Since you're in there.......change em' all. :yesnod:
