Default Sort of strange question....

Made you look!

Anyway, I turn the body of my 80 in Friday to get restored and painted. He is doing it it while I have the frame (reassembling the rolling chassis).

He will return it to me with the bumpers mounted. Is there any way to drop the body back on the chassis without removing the bumpers?

I think I can slide the front bumper support into the nose and then bolt it to the frame, but the rear looks like it might not work the same way.

Anyone ever attempted this? Anyone successful?

Much thanks to any and all!

Pat

You will have to remove the bumpers to mount the body. He should paint them separately, leave them off, and then they can be mounted after the body is back on and all the mounts, braces, honeycombs, etc. are in place. I'm preparing to do my '80 and that is what I've read from those in the know.

"Made you remove the bumper!"

But seriously.....I hope you have a "scratch-free body-on" reassembly.

And post plenty PICS!
