Noisy ...something in the rear.

Rebuilt the diff with all new bearings, seals, clutches, side yokes, 3.54 gears, trailing arm bearings and bushings, and replaced all the bushings, UJoints, last winter. The car has since only had about 3k put on it. .The original 350 is rebuilt with a mild cam, backed up by the original TH350,also rebuilt, with an old school B&M shift kit.All in all a stout setup, with a really hard shift. And I do beat on it.
Problem is, it has developed a disturbing "crunching" thud on the right rear wheel/suspension.Hard to explain.Comes around a lot during reverse/forward transitions,or when I accelerate from a standing stop.Just a unnerving "Crunch","thud","groan",or whatever you want to call it,and then it's gone.
Sometimes it will cause the half shaft or driveline to ping loudly.
I thought maybe something rotational was binding,or something in the suspension was loose.Been under the car looking but can see nothing abnormal. No vibrations ,or handling problems while driving. The differential's not making noise either.I do notice when I get down hard on it,it'll squat to that side in the first to second shift.
Any ideas what to look for before I start taking stuff apart needlessly?

Took it out with my oldest son and let him look while I rocked back and forth from drive to reverse a few times....And guess what!
Both U-Joint's on the half shaft ,right rear.
Since both shafts had new joints put in them,Why are two on the same side toasted?Alignment?Cheap quality?
