Installing BM shift kit in my th-350. Small conical shaped filter dropped out and I dont know where it came from. It came from the valve body after I removed the plate. Need a picture or diagram of what port it goes back into.
I am curious why you went with the B&M kit. I am looking to put a kid in mind and have not decided which one. Let me know how the install and everything goes. Also if you're able to drive it let me know how it performs. Thanks and good luck.
Chris
I 2nd that. Is the trans slipping? If so, shift kit won't fix that. I found my old TH350 shifted plenty firm under hard acceleration. It was once it started slipping that I swapped in a 700R4. Oh, what a feelin'

B&M has been in the business a long time so I figured they had the most experience. I was a little worried about doing it but after reading the instructions I decided I could do it. It would be better if you had a lift. All I had was speed ramps . The disassembly is a little messy be sure to have a large not too deep pan under the trans with cheesecloth over it to catch any parts. The biggest problem is the instructions are weak in detail and the pix are poor. But its not a bad project. I urge you to buy a TH350 manual to back up the instructions.

No trans problems. Car is still in garage waiting for spring and I finished all my planned projects and needed something to do so I figured I would put in a shift kit.
I've used B&M shift kits in several vehicles over the years with good results every time. Be sure to use a good trans fluid afterwards. Chirping the tires in a new and virtually stock 73 Vega GT really surprised a few friends a long time ago! I miss that car to this day.

I think Type-F fluid is recommended with transmissions with shift kits. That's what I used in all my cars with them.

I THIRD this!
I am thinking about doing this. I heard good things also about the TransGo shift kit as wel...
I did not look at the Trans Go kit. Probably should have. I think all the parts will be the same but the real issue is the instructions and photographs. Have lots of rags handy. Don't rush it, read the instructions over many time for each step. Look at everything closely before you disconnect it.
