Default Setting timing... Car warm or does it matter?

I have found the info I was looking for to set my timing, but was wondering does it matter if the car is cold/warm/hot?
Thanks!!!!

all engine tuning should be done when engine is at normal operating temp, ie: hot. (except choke). good luck

If you're doing a normal initial adjustment with the vacuum advance disconnected, it doesn't matter as long as the idle is where it's supposed to be. If you're doing a total setting, the idle speed doesn't matter. Timing is adjusted by changing the relationship of the distributor cap's contacts to the rotor's contact and that relationship is not affected by temp.
