New PS pump leaking out overnight
It has no high pressure leaks, and the return hose area is dry.
Do those studs have any impact whatsoever on sealing, or shall I head back to the parts store this weekend?
Not familiar with the PS conversion you did, but have gotten "very familiar" with PS pump leaks lately!
The photo shows the two studs and the seals beneath them. Also note the seal under the 1 inch nut. Besides, these three seals there are two other seals that can leak. The shaft seal (pretty obvious) and the large seal. The large one seals the pump to the reservoir. That one can be a PIA. The only other possibilities could be overfilling and leaking out of the cap or where the fill neck is welded into the reservoir. Maybe a bad weld.
You said the pressure and return hoses or good so I won't cover them. My last leak was from the return, caused by me from taking the pump off a few times. I took a small chunk of rubber out of the return line -- and of course it leaked.
Best way I have found to locate the leak was to put the car on jack stands, fill the reservoir remove any sign of PS fluid on the parts and go do something else. Them come backs and see where the leak is. Front or back.... And pretty soon you'll locate it. Take your time.
One tip! Do Not Try to save $$$ and reuse a seal. Been there!
Let me know if you have any other questions or need more pics.

When you take yours apart, also check for foreign particles. If a large enough piece of dirt gets between the seal and the reservoir, you can have a leak. Also run your finger on the metal inside the reservoir, if not smooth will leak.
Have fun!
