where do you get the chip from and where does it plug in on my car?

It takes 5 minutes to disconnect the battery. ECM is located inside the rear compartment. Remove the plastic tray. Takes a little wiggling but it slips out. The ECM is screwed to the bulkhead between the seat and the compartment. Remove the little trap door on the ECM . Pull the prom and push in the new one.
When you finish, it drives totally different. You'll know it just pulling out of the driveway.
Someone referenced unplugging the lockup convertor-- sure fire way to kill a 700-R4. When the convertor locks up, the cooler line pressure jumps dramatically- forcing the fluid to cool thru the radiator. OK for a short term test, but leaving it disabled will cook the trans.
I thought the electrical connector was what made it lock up - no?
