over the past few weeks i made a harness and got the relays etc from Daniel Stern. i installed hella h4 low beams with 70 watt osham bulbs, and 2 100 watt halogen aircraft landing lights. driving at night is much safer as i can see for what seems like miles. i would recommend upgrading your lighting to anyone. i am by no means a great electrician but going by sterns info is not difficult at all. i got quality parts marine grade wires , and stellar lights. one of the best upgrades i have done, recently
I have had 4 Hella Euro Halogens on my 78 since 1983 with 55/60 watt low beams that run off the factory wiring and 100 watt halogen Euro Hella's that run off a relay wired directly to the back of the alternator. They are indeed incredible with no one on the road. Not a fan of the aircraft landing lights in the high beam buckets since they generally not of the best quality lens, have a very short lifespan, and are generally sealed beam filaments, although you mentioned that you had HALOGEN aircraft 100 watt lights, but they would get the job done if you are looking to save a few dollars. I have these:
i think i got a boost in upgrading the low beam wiring and running them off the alternator too. im looking for something to upgrade to on the high beam side , either way there is no comparison to stock lights. they used to say with the original lights at 60 m.p.h you were driving beyond your headlights . i think i can go lots faster than that now.
