I was driving my car yesterday and the Tach needle instantly dives from idle speed ( 700-800 RPM ) to being pinned in the negative direction.
Now, whenever I turn the key on ( not starting the engine ) the needle gets pinned in the wrong direction instead of settling @ zero.
I have a Wilcox Board installed. ( installed Nov of 13 ) I don't drive the car a ton so there is maybe 1-2 hours on the board.

I haven't contacted him yet. Its Sunday and this only happened yesterday. Plus he seems to respond quicker here than via email or phone. This isn't the first battle with this circuit board. And yes, he is very nice. :-)

Glad its a 78-82 car, much easier to get at. If you ever need me, email me direct at support@Willcoxcorvette.com You'll get a generic message back but I'll answer you as quickly as possible.
Some people don't realize that you can pull the lens, then the speedo tach bezel and remove the tach without removing the entire housing so if you know this great, if you don't I have instructions on the web site to help you. http://willcoxcorvette.com/repairand...lp.php?hID=290
I would pull the tach, back off and then re-tighten the nuts holding the board in place.
One may be loose causing one side of the board to work only.
If that fails, send the entire tach to me and we'll take a look at it.
