Ok, I think my stock horns are not loud enough.
Anyone pleased with the aftermarket horns you've installed?
I bought horns from Pep Boys and they claimed to be 118 db and really loud. Unfortunately, they sounded like a higher pitched Toyota and weren't so loud. I took them back.
I got a pair from harbor freight. Inexpensive and are very loud! Went off by themselves a couple of nights ago at 2AM-Rude Awakening! Gotta find out why the darn things went off! My horn button sticks sometimes.
My stock horns were bad so I replaced them with Wolo dual horns. Took 15 minutes to install them as they bolted to my stock horn mounts and the electrical clip was the same. Best of all they were under $20 at the local auto parts store. The dual horns are very loud. One of these days I plan to rebuild my factory horns, but until that day these work great.
La Cucaracha! Funny!
In the 70s, my Uncle made a lot of oil money and was a lady's man.
He drove bit Lincoln's and they always had air horns:
Lara's theme, La Cucaracha, etc.
Especially late 60's. They had three horns. Two of the standard compact style and the third one was a trumpet, very similar in size and shape to the alarm horn in my '69 roadster.
Thanks for the help.
I ordered a set of Setbel TM80s.
They make the right sound and at 136 db, should get some attention.
I read the as horns get corrosion in them, they aren't as loud because they can't resonated enough?

KL5A Train Horns....wake the dead but you need a small air tank & Compressor. Great for those people that pull into the left lane in front of you doing 20mph
