Hello from Sweden
I am in the final to restore a -69 conv with new harnesses and a lot of mecanical work (2 years). It is important to restore to strait original.
Q- I have change the fuel gauge and the instruction with the new gauge told me that is important to connect the black cable from the seat belt warning and dont use the resistor between external connections on the guage? Is there anyone who can tell me about the internal connection in the instrument. It is a AC Delco 393214. In my world is it a simple amp.meter in series with the resistor (90 ohm variable) in the fuelsender.
Grateful for tips.
With best regards Lennart Björnerhag
Typically dash gauge has 12v, ground (-) , and signal terminals. The sender variable resistor terminal connects to signal wire from gauge. The sender itself will have black wire to ground it usually to the chassis. There should not be additional resistors
