Welcome, as you can see I like Blue 73's as well.
Visit the "73 Spot" for good info on the 73's. Not certain of the address but Tom73 runs it and it is link from each of his posts.
I use the cork gaskets and no sealant. I clean the cast iron lip on the head with a good solvent until the cast iron has no oil residue. Just lay the cork down and tighten away. The thin sheet metal covers deform and don't provide a good seal, use thicker aluminum valve covers.
