hood alignment
now that the motors back in and the hood is back on the 72,
how do i align the male pins on the firewall with the hood openings?
the spring loaded pins are not quite lining up now and the hood dosent close properly
i marked the hinge area before i removed the hood, and that has lined up well.
i didnt think to scribe around the plates before i removed them to paint the area.
any tricks?

If you take some tin foil and tape over the holes in the hood and lower it slowly but not closing it the tips of the pins will make a indention in the foil. This will give you some idea which way the pins need to be moved.

I taped over the catches with masking tape, outlined the openings, and lowered the hood to leave an indentation like Rocco71 suggested. Had to repeat a couple of times to get them in the center
