It is. The pre-ECM distributor has 2 connections from external sources- TACH and BAT. Both of those exist on the post-ECM distributors too. Post-ECM, there is also another connector that is for the advance and retard that is all done by the ECM.
You'll need to pick up vacuum from the carb for the vacuum side of the advance.
