I while I had my steering column out of my car, I thought I'd take the opportunity to replace the turn signal switch. Good news is that all went well there.... bad news is that I cannot recall where this part goes. If the pics aren't fabulous, it's about an inch tall, has six sides and is threaded on the inside.
I've checked the column schematic and it doesn't show up anywhere that I can see. The only thing I have left to attach is the ignition switch on the outside of the column and I can't see where it would go there.
Any ideas?
Yea and I know better than failing to take pictures! Just a mental laps
It's metal and is about 1 inch long and 1/3 of an inch wide at the base. It has 6 flat sides on the shaft and the end is round. It appears to be a thumb screw of some kind which is one of the perplexing things.
That looks like the hazard flasher button that is below the ignition switch.
Mine looks like that and has a screw that goes through the middle of it
that attaches to the switch in the column.
Look on page 426 of the 73 AIM.
Thanks Donnie but that's not the flasher button the threads don't go through, they dead end just over halfway in. Here is a better pic if anyone can help....
