Default Tranny problem help!

My tranny doesn't want to shift properley. At higher rpms it won't go to the next gear and the tach just jumps around. Is it a possible vaccuum problem? How can i check if the vaccuum is working properley?

That sounds like the vacuum modulator, check to see if the vacuum line is connected at both ends. I don't think the tach problem is related, that could be a bad ground or tach filter.

After swapping intake manifolds, I had the same issue with the tranny. There is a metal vaccume line running from the back of the intake manifold down to the transmission and connects to the side. Just from moving it to the side to remove the intake, the vaccume hose that connects it (not the metal piece) cracked, causing the transmission to act the way you describe. Check that line.. it's your #1 suspect for the shifting problem. Good luck! :chevy:

Well this is an ongoing problem. It's been like this before i had the engine rebuild with the cam and intake.

I would replace your vacuum lines even if they don't look cracked, that much hose will probably only cost $0.50

Have you checked your transmission fluid? You might want to change it and replace your filter and modulator.
