It usually takes 25 to 30 pumps of the accelerator to fire off the engine if it's been sitting for a day or two.
No problem for the rest of the day. Car starts after that with simple turn of the key and runs very strong.
What's going on? How can I fix it?
Re: I have to pump like crazy every cold start. (daily_driver)
check both your choke and accel pump linkages. does the choke unload properly when you actuate throttle before startup? can you see fuel being sprayed when you pump the gas?

Sounds like the bowl is running empty"leaking" and you are having to turn the motor over to fill it again before the carb has gas to fire the motor.

If you are running lean it will do just that. Check your plugs and if they are white then install a smaller pri. mettering rod. I had the same problem for years. Then Lars tech sheet helped me out on installing my new mods.
