Default Engine Mods

I've decided to do a 5 sp conversion on my 68 conv. While I do it I think i'll rebuild the 327 #s matching engine but I might do a 383 internally balanced VERY MILD. lower compression for good pump gas. good aluminum heads (save the stock ones).Performer intake, Barry Grant quad. carb. Paint everything orange for that " stockish " look Any thoughts?

I would be tempted to just build a new engine and put the matching numbers one under the work bench. Another good spin off is that you can continue to drive the car while you build the new engine.

Can't go wrong with a 383 under the hood and maybe some fuel injection if funds allow?

I am always torn on these 60's cars. Especially a 327 numbers matching. From your AV picture this looks like a nice car.

It just seems a shame to change a real icon, although I understand the need for more power and performance.

A crate engine and keep the orginal is the best of both worlds.
