fuel pump pushrod warning
Some will already know this, but I thought I would give a heads up for those how don't.
Today I took my fuel pump off to convert to EFI. I run a bronze tipped fuel pump pushrod in combination with my mechanical roller camshaft. This is not some el cheapo part, but it was a Crane one (from before they went bankrupt).
I only did 1000 miles with it and it had already worn substantially. I was hearing some noise in my engine, which I thought was a lifter but apparently it was the push rod.
Stay safe.
