77 steering rack issues
the adjustable part of the steering column that goes up and down seems lose...
it also goes right and left and in and out. it doesn't seem right.
is it an easy fix or am I looking at replacing the column.
im on a limited budget so fixing it would be preferable

Do you have the AIM for your car? That would be helpful. Remove the horn button and rotate the locking mechanism to see how it operates. I don't have the diagram with me, but I recall once you understand how it works, you will be able to adjust it to tighten it down.
