Default Little dent in halfshaft, would you buy a new one?

Itīs a pitty, thereīs a little dent in one of my halfshafts.
Iīm pretty sure that it could be balanced out, but I donīt like this solution.
Too much bubba if you know what I mean.
Would you buy a new one, how much $ ? and where to purchase?

Unless it caused a vibration, I wouldn't worry about it.

Whats wrong with balancing it? Why would that be "bubba"? Drive shafts and Half shafts should be balanced anyway.

Markus, half shafts aren't normally balanced. I just had new half shafts made for $130 Canadian each. I stepped up to 3" dia. from 2-1/2". I would suggest that you do the same.

When I did the 1/2 shafts a couple of months ago I had an extra set to work with. They all had part of the tube flat from previous guys changing the u-joinnts and crushing them in a vise. I used the best of the lot and they work fine. A drive-shaft shop could replace the tube if you want to go that route.

With everything else that you have done, I'd replace it with a new one from Tom's Differentials or Zip.

Thanks for your opinions concerning my half shaft.
Although I bought new U joints I have a bad feeling about them because they have zerk fittings. My engine isnīt a race engine yet, but Iīm pretty sure that Iīll build a 383 in the future with more power.
Maybe Iīll buy a complete set including the u-joints.
As much as I know splicers (sp?) are good ones, right?
Maybe somebody can tell me where to purchase a race ready set incl. shafts for a reasonable price?
Thanks in advance, Markus
