Paul, you can do a couple of things. 1. Maximize positive caster (with aftermarket control arms or mods you can get up to 6 degrees positive). 2. Reduce the pressure in the pump by adding shims to the relief valve relief valve
I just spoke to my local powersteering specialist and they said it is not
as easy as just adding shims to the relief valve. First you have to know
how much pressure your pump is actually putting out by testing it, then
install an extra shim and then retest and so on, till you achieve the desired
pressure output.
They also said that this method is not really the best method of
achieving better feel. The correct way is to replace the torsion bar in
the rack.
