i have just rcently purchased a 81 corvette. :D it's a restoration job, to say the least. it currently has stingray emblems above the vents on the sides. but no other emblems.i havent seen any other 81's with these and would like to know if they are supposed to be on it. also could someone tell me the correct emblems that go on this car and where. the only one i know of is the one on the bumper and that the corvette one. i need the one for the gas tank, bumper, hood, and also the sides if there are any.
Well, first of all, I think the Nose emblems are discontinued, and the Stingray emblems should not be there. Might want to check Ebay or this link for your emblems www.trimparts.com
76 was thye last year for the Singray emblem on the fenders. But I say if you like them leave them, as I have done on my 77. In my opinion all C3s are stingrays. :yesnod:
Welcome to the forum from another '81 owner.
Dukman is right about the nose emblems. They are DC. I don't believe that Trim Parts sells them either (I talked to them at a car show before). You could always buy 80 emblems and paint the chrome edge around them flat black. As for the Stingray emblems, they shouldn't be there. There should be the nose emblem, gas tank lid, and the rear bumber emblem (Corvette text logo). :chevy You can get the bumber emblem, and the gas tank lid emblem from any vendor. Like Corvette Central, Mid America, The Last Detail, Eckler's, Zip, etc., etc., etc.
I believe there should be crossed flag emblems on the side. I'm ditching the Crossfire injection emblems for Script that says Corvette, but i don't give a rat's poopie about NCRS standards with this car
